40 years of the Chernobyl disaster: How does it affect us today?
with the playback theater ensemble Platforma Linii
April 26, 1986 marks the day of one of the biggest man-made disasters: the reactor accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
40 years on, the traces are still visible today - in the environment, in politics and above all in the life stories of millions of people. Chernobyl is not a closed chapter in history. It is part of our collective memory. We look back together in order to better understand the present. What does this turning point mean for us today? What questions do we ask about our future?
"By telling and listening to stories we can't change the past but we can learn from it to make different choices for the future."
Playback theater is a form of improvised theater in which the audience tells their stories and the ensemble acts them out on stage. "We are playing your stories back to you." The ensemble includes actors from Germany, Russia and Ukraine.
