Playing Power // Tanz-Workshop mit Nona Siepmann

In the organizer's words:

How do power and powerlessness affect our everyday lives? What do we do when we experience or see injustice? How can we use our bodies and movement to change our patterns of action? With Negotiating Power, Nona Siepmann creates a performance offering that includes participatory practice spaces (laboratories) in addition to a stimulating dance performance. The aim here is to create a space in which the reflections triggered can be translated into concrete action strategies for everyday life. By combining contemporary dance, Krump and methods from Augusto Boal's Theater of the Oppressed, we pursue a physical translation of individual (discriminatory) experiences, acting them out through dance, viewing them from different perspectives and transforming them through different intentions. In changing roles - as those affected as well as those discriminated against - the participants deal with their own scope for power and action.

Conditions of participation: Anyone aged 14 and over who is interested in dance and the topics addressed is invited. No previous knowledge is necessary - just a desire for movement, exchange and a playful change of perspective. For people under the age of 18, a completed declaration of consent from a parent or guardian is a prerequisite for participation.
