Australian prog guitarist in Germany for four showsin May 2026

Since the early 2010s, Plini has been a classic bedroom artist, self-producing and self-releasing his music. His tracks, which combine modern prog with djent-like metal elements, his unique guitar sound and a post-rock atmosphere, quickly hit a nerve. "Selenium Forest" becomes his first successful track and lays the foundation for a career that takes him on tour internationally. As support for bands such as TesseracT, Animals As Leaders and Polyphia, it became clear early on just how much his music could be enjoyed live. Today, with two albums and five EPs to his name, Plini is one of the most influential guitarists in modern prog music and is celebrated worldwide for his unique style. Also because he succeeds in writing instrumental prog music with great joy of playing and catchiness. After a tour in August 2024, Plini will return to Germany in spring 2026 on his UK & European Tour. In May, he will play four concerts in Hamburg, Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt. He will be joined by Sungazer - an EDM and electrojazz-influenced fusion band from New York City led by bassist and YouTuber Adam Neely and drummer Shawn Crowder.

Plini Roessler-Holgate started playing acoustic guitar as a child. However, he only discovered the electric guitar at the age of 15, whereupon he familiarized himself with both the instrument and home producing and initially released music under the stage name Halcyon from 2011 to 2013. Both "Other Things" and"Sweet Nothings" quickly made Plini famous within the djent and prog scene under his real name in 2013 for his narrative instrumental style, which features catchy melodies and rhythms as well as great atmosphere. Following the EP "The End of Everything", Plini released his debut album "Handmade Cities" in 2016. Both "Every Piece Matters" and "Electric Sunrise" as well as the album's title track become top tracks for the guitarist with a tricky groove and catchy melodies. After the record "Sunhead" in 2018, "Impulse Voices" was released in 2020 as the solo artist's second album. In 2023, Plini released his latest EP "Mirage", which he presented extensively on a European tour in summer 2024. At the end of August, "Live In North America" was released as the first live album by the guitarist, who has acquired a brilliant band in Jake Howsam Lowe (guitar), Simon Grove (bass) and Chris Allison (drums), which also impresses with a high level of virtuosity and ensures wide eyes, astonished faces and music lovers* at live shows worldwide.
