Pockets full of change

In the organizer's words:

Warm, acoustic music played by two longtime friends: Pockets Full of Change play newgrass - blues, folk and Americana.

There is a warmth in their self-written songs that is particularly familiar from the US scene. The Grateful Dead were an early influence, but you can also hear Punch Brothers, Yonder Mountain String Band or Union Station in their songs. Deep, poetic reflections on the human condition. Anyone who engages with the power of these pared-down songs live will be rewarded with confidence and a feeling of having arrived.

At least that's what happened to the well-established cellist Hagen Kuhr. After a concert in July 2024, when Pockets Full of Change came off stage as the opener for the main act Stefan Gwildis, Hagen Kuhr approached the two of them. Would they always "just" play too far...? The concert they had just experienced had been a real treat...

The answer manifested itself a few weeks later and led to a first joint concert with Cello last October, which loyal companions and long-standing fans declared to be the musical highlight of Pockets Full of Change to date.

Accordingly, it is a great pleasure to experience the Hamburg band Pockets Full of Change live as a trio on 24.10.2025:
