Pouya Abdi Quartett (feat. Gabriel Coburger) - Live Recording

On August 27, the award-winning Brückenstern will be transformed into a recording studio and a sonorous laboratory for musical adventures. Hamburg guitarist Pouya Abdi, whose Iranian roots repeatedly leave subtle traces in his playing, will present brand new compositions with his quartet as part of the renowned jazz concert series "Fat Jazz - Urban Exchange"

With Rafa Müller (drums), Giorgi Kiknadze (bass) and Björn Atle Anfinsen (trumpet), Abdi has a formation at his side that came together during his studies at the HfMT Hamburg - and has maintained an almost telepathic musical connection ever since. Whether quiet and subtle or energetic and risk-taking, every individual flight of fancy is captured and lyrically steered into new, unexpected directions.

For the second set, Gabriel Coburger joins them - one of the formative players and innovators of the German jazz scene. With his unmistakable voice on saxophone and flute, he opens up new sound spaces and expands the quartet into a quintet that boldly ventures into the unknown on this evening.

The concert will be recorded live - giving everyone present the rare opportunity to become part of a musical moment that will live on.
