Powder For Pigeons

Singer and guitarist Rhys and drummer Meike have a reputation for relentlessly energetic and sweat-inducing wall-of-rock performances. Most recently on tour with Monster Magnet, Clawfinger and Ugly Kid Joe, the power duo and Las Vegas-married couple inspire with their almost magical interplay and a gigantic and unmistakable sound. Rhys builds his guitars from Australian bush wood himself. With riffs that are sometimes effective and spherical, sometimes blasted out straight ahead, he creates such tremendous pressure that it's hard to believe there are only two people on stage. Drummer Lady Meike, who has already drummed in Los Angeles for a label of the legendary Sound City Studios, drives the whole thing forward with her mostly up- to mid-tempo power grooves that make it crack. With obvious influences from rock icons such as Helmet, RATM, Faith no more, QOTSA and Primus, the two celebrate the whole spectrum of dirty, grungy alternative rock - in an explosive live set.
