What contribution can a feminist development policy make to empowering women* worldwide and migrants* in Germany? Many women* are forced to leave their regions of origin for a variety of reasons and build a new life under the most difficult conditions. Women* from countries in the Global South often experience multiple discrimination and a lack of respect and dignity. This reveals colonial continuities that should be addressed and dealt with through development education work.

Following a reading of excerpts from the book "Barefoot in Germany" by author Divine Gashugi Umulisa (Tete Loeper), psychosocial counseling expert Charlotte Njikoufon will highlight the challenges women* from the Global South face in Germany with regard to gender equality.
