The next premiere must be a success - if it weren't for the singers, who are more concerned with themselves than with the art ... In the tumultuous rehearsals, marital quarrels and dreams of self-realization, motherly love and daughter complexes, hierarchical struggles and class shame come to light. Donizetti has staged a madcap comedy, the star of which is a mother who sings a bass-baritone with all the right moves: a dream role for ensemble member Hovhannes Karapetyan. In a fast-paced production by Wolfgang Nägele, the singers of our ensemble share the spotlight with the orchestra.
