SALSA / LATIN-JAZZ in big band sound

PRIMERA DIVERSIÓN transforms Latin American salsa and Latin jazz music into the compact and powerful sound of a 16-piece band.
The formation brings together international musicians: 8 wind players, 6 rhythm players and 2 vocal soloists. The arrangements written especially for this line-up are extremely danceable and yet unconventional and sophisticated.

PRIMERA DIVERSIÓN leads the audience unerringly into the exuberant mood of a Caribbean rumba. The band combines the Caribbean Latin sound with the powerful sound of a big band and thus reaches a wide range of target groups consisting of salsa, jazz and big band fans. With dance interludes and show elements, even the last skeptics in the audience are infected and convinced by the good mood.

In June 2016, the new 16-piece salsa & Latin jazz big band PRIMERA DIVERSIÓN made its debut at the award-winning Hamburg club CASCADAS and has since performed regularly in clubs and open-air venues in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein.

PRIMERA D IVERSIÓN features two vocal soloists, six rhythm players and an eight-piece brass section with an international line-up.

With salsa classics in big band sound,PRIMERA DIVERSIÓN unerringly brings the audience into the exuberant mood of a Caribbean rumba within a few minutes. You can expect energetic brass sections in their own arrangements, paired with Latin American rhythms and joie de vivre! The multicultural big band now presents a varied band book with exclusively self-arranged titles from the salsa and Latin jazz genres, which is enough to fill an entire evening.

PRIMERA DIVERSIÓN brings a tropical ambience and summery atmosphere to the location. On request, we offer a salsa taster dance course by an experienced dance instructor, so that within a few minutes both salsa inexperienced audience and dance professionals are active on the dance floor. In other words, a combination of live music and dance animation, a real participatory event for the audience.
