PRINT YOUR HANDBAG - Design & 3D Workshop

An evening between design, art and technology - at Studio Thorsten Gambalat, an independent design studio in Düsseldorf.
Here, furniture, objects and lights are created at the interface of art and product design - and for one evening, the space opens up for a special experience:

Together with the designer, participants create their own Top Handle Bag - a small, sculptural bag object with an individual shape.
During the workshop, they will experience the 3D printing process live and gain an insight into the possibilities of this production technology - from the design to the creation of the first prototype.

Each design is then further developed digitally in the studio and professionally 3D printed.
The finished bags are presented and collected at the second, short session - a moment when design, material and personality come together.

The evening is accompanied by design drinks, music and an open, professional studio atmosphere.
"Print Your Handbag" is not a technical workshop, but a design event that shows how an idea becomes an object - precise, aesthetic and experimental at the same time.

About the designer

Thorsten Gambalat works as a designer at the interface of product, interior and object design.
He develops projects for private and institutional clients who share the demand for special design.
His work combines sculptural thinking, material awareness and contemporary design language.

He was nominated for the Dezeen Award 2024 and has taught interior and product design at various design colleges.

Inclusion & openness

The studio sees itself as an open and inclusive space in which diversity, respect and mutual appreciation are a matter of course.
People of all backgrounds - LGBTQIA+, BIPoC and Allies - are welcome.

The studio is currently not barrier-free and is only accessible via stairs.
However, we strive to find individual solutions to make participation possible.
