A magical projection mapping show in Dresden

Premiere on February 6, 2026 in the Martin Luther Church

From February 6, the Martin Luther Church in the center of Dresden's Neustadt district will be transformed into a monumental Gesamtkunstwerk of light, music and history: with GENESIS, the internationally renowned Zurich-based artist collective Projektil presents an immersive projection mapping show that immerses visitors from young to old in another world.

An experience between space and time

For GENESIS, the historic walls and vaults of the Evangelical Lutheran church are filled with high-resolution projections, elaborate animations and specially composed music. The show tells the story of the creation of the earth in a contemporary, poetic and visually spectacular way - from the first rays of light to the wonders of nature and the diversity of life.

State-of-the-art mapping technology creates the impression that the architecture itself is coming to life. Visitors lose their sense of space and time - the boundaries of the church seem to dissolve as colors, shapes, sounds and light bring the story to life. The interplay of precise light art and the sacred atmosphere promises an unforgettable experience for all age groups.

Local jewel, international stage

With the sandstone building completed in 1887 as the venue, one of Dresden's largest churches will become part of the narrative. "The unique architecture of this church provides a perfect canvas - not only for our projections, but also for the emotions we want to arouse in the audience," says Roman Beranek, Creative Director of Projektil.

Projektil is known worldwide for immersive art projects that combine technology, art and emotion. GENESIS is a centerpiece of the group's repertoire - a symbiosis of projection, music and spatial awareness. Each performance is specially adapted to the venue, so that venues such as the Martin Luther Church become part of the production in all their splendor.
