Rio de Janeiro, early 1970s. The Paiva family lives in a rented house on the beach: father Rubens, mother Eunice and their five children. When Rubens disappears, Eunice becomes the driving force to build a new future for her family. She faces the challenges of this dark time with courage, determination and an unshakeable faith in her children.
