Political statements and fun: sounds like two irreconcilable opposites at first. For Hamburg ska-punk band Rantanplan, however, this is no problem at all. The men and ladies around frontman Torben Meissner convince with intelligent lyrics and crisp songs that stay in your head. Born in the Hanseatic city in 1995, the band, named after Lucky Luke's dog, quickly makes it clear that they don't cuddle, they bite. Rantanplan comment on politics, society, religion and culture in a cynical and humorous way, but never lose sight of the seriousness. For their lyrics, the Hamburg band have therefore adopted a musical guise of punk rock and a charming use of horns that is convincing across the board. Whether philosophizing about "light and shadow" or paying homage to their home town of "Pauli", Rantanplan know what they can do. And they won't stop any time soon, so: "Stay Rudel - Stay Rebel". True to the motto "Shut up - make music", Rantanplan show how to inspire the masses at their concerts. They don't hesitate for long, they get straight down to it!
