RAUM : RAAH, a co-production of the Bonn fringe ensemble with Kaivalya Plays in New Delhi (IN), is dedicated to social, cultural and political aspects of public space, based on joint research and material collections - conversations and interviews, recorded sound and image material, as well as live videos and sounds in and from both cities.
How do people in the two cities of Bonn and New Delhi, which could hardly be more different due to their history, size and culture, see, experience and use public space? What claims to ownership exist, what boundaries are claimed or disregarded? How are public spaces in the two cities/countries shaped by the communities that inhabit them and vice versa?
The production will create a hybrid play space for the transcontinental performance, in which stories, positions, artists and audiences from both countries will meet and relate to each other.
