Winnie Luzie Burz

It's not about babies - they're just a hook, a means to an end. They have simply slipped into our feed, and that's exactly how we came up with the topic in the first place: the ubiquitous aestheticization of everyday life.

We stage our most primal needs and desires - to the point of complete artificiality, as can be seen in the social media world. We are taking total control - even over chaos.

But how close are we actually still to ourselves when we stage even our most basic instincts in public? Or is it perhaps precisely this control over ourselves that makes us human?

Based on reborn dolls - hyper-realistic infant replicas that are played with online by women - Reborn by Winnie Luzie Burz is a hybrid performance between puppet theater, reenactment and live stream. With musical accompaniment by Johannes Treß, a performance is created between stage and digital space.
