With over 400 songs, Reinhard Mey has created a larger repertoire than almost any of his contemporaries. He tells his stories from every situation in life, whether sad and thoughtful or cheerful and satirical. He treats the most banal everyday situations with the same lyrical sophistication as the really big themes. Whether it's about plumbers, murderers and gardeners, a flight above the clouds or far-reaching stories about German history, Reinhard Mey knows how to use the diversity and scope of the German language like no other. With deep personal authenticity and honesty, he sings about themes such as personal freedom, social criticism, nature and transience, friendship, childhood, or love and longing.
