REITLER's unbeatable asset remains their stage presence. No compromises are made at the band's concerts - they dance between all the chairs! If you can't dance, you have to sing along. For example, the song "Spion für die Sowjetunion" or "Alles was du kochst schmeckt nach Maggie". After attending a REITLER concert, it is not uncommon for people to show symptoms of confusing exhilaration and signs of a slight buzz, even though they have hardly had anything to drink. A clear case of "disco in the brain", caused by a highly intense soundtrack from REITLER's "Disko Alemanija".
REITLER's lyrics remain one of their trademarks. With depth, but always with irony and a tongue-in-cheek lightness, they deal with topics from the adult world: Stories from the East German pampas, of discovering and remembering, of the madness in the details. The band has its roots in folky indie pop with melodies that burrow deep into the ear canals and make the synapses crackle. With new bassist Simon Fagerstedt, the songs have got to groove!
The comparison with colleagues such as Erdmöbel, Kid Kopphausen or Element of Crime is a bit of a stretch - but at least it's in the right direction. With the new album "Disko Alemanija", you could add Die Sterne as another reference - funky songs with German lyrics. Disco in the brain!
