Christmas should be merry,... and contemplative. But above all beautiful. And precisely because we want this so much, we stress ourselves to the point of contemplation, experience stress, shopping madness and get together for the traditional family quarrel.

René Steinberg says: Put an end to it! The motto of his new Christmas program: "make Christmas great again". And the way to achieve this is through laughter. Laughing about ourselves, our quirks, our habits (how do you eat a domino?), about fellow human beings who definitely don't celebrate the festival of love in the supermarket parking lot or about supposedly small lights that perhaps illuminate their Las Vegas-style windows for this very reason?
Let's laugh about it - especially together with other people - because, as usual, Steinberg interacts a lot with his audience, so that you can experience a nice evening together even before the festivities begin.
Perhaps a bit like the shepherds of old, to whom the angel did not announce payback points, but above all: great joy! So, back to the cheerful roots of Christmas; get your cards, relax and then: "Let's be merry and bright!"

René Steinberg is well known to many people purely "vocally". He has been doing satire, commentary and comedy on the radio for 20 years - "die von der Leyens", "Sarko de Funes" and "Tatort mit Till, Herbert und Udo" on WDR2 are legendary. At WDR5, he was host and presenter in various live shows of "Unterhaltung am Wochenende".

Tens of thousands of visitors have seen the trained Germanist in the WDR stage shows "Lachen Live", where he has been on the road throughout North Rhine-Westphalia in four different programs. With his first solo program, the self-confessed power griller and BVB fan won several cabaret awards from 2012 onwards and was nominated at the Wühlmäuse cabaret festival in Berlin, among others. With his fourth solo program "Freuwillige Vor! Wer lacht, macht den Mund auf" he continues to develop his very own style: interactive, fast, profound, philanthropic and with a wit that only reveals itself as biting mockery at second glance.

The Christmas program "Ach, du fröhliche,..." is the successor to the successful Christmas program "Irres ist festlich".
