REVONTULET

Musical light show based on a Nordic legend

In Finland, the Northern Lights are called "Revontulet" - which translates as "fox fire". The myth says that fire foxes whirled up sparks and snowflakes with their rods, creating the magical aurora.

Actress Angelika Baumgartner tells the story of the Northern Lights' origins in an extraordinary stage production, accompanied by a saxophone trio:

Eljas Völkert (alto), Renate Kohl (tenor) and Jochen Bauer (baritone) elicit rare sounds from their instruments, playing Nordic folk music, pieces by Edvard Grieg and their own compositions.

Scenographer Stefan Schneider has created an impressive stage sculpture in which the play of light from the Northern Lights can be experienced as an artistic light composition.

The performance is also suitable for children aged 8 and over, which is why we have included a family performance in the program on 07.12. at 15:00 - unfortunately, this will also be the last performance of this project.
