Rhein-Main-Open Ensemble unter der Leitung von Peter Meyer

In the Rhein-Main-Open Ensemble, students from the Big Band Master's program at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK) and jazz students from the Mainz University of Music make music together. Every semester, exciting programs for large ensembles are developed and performed under different directors. The aim of this project is to network the regional jazz scene more closely, pool resources and create synergies between the two music academies.

At the concert in the ROMANFABRIK, the Rhein-Main-Open-Ensemble will present pieces of contemporary jazz, with all its crossovers, avant-gardisms and fusions. The ensemble will be led by Peter Meyer. The Berlin guitarist, composer and sound artist has always moved between the genres of jazz, prog rock, pop, real-time and new music. Particularly in his bands Melt Trio, Other Animal and the project "From The Ceiling", Meyer is constantly exploring new, original paths.
