ROCK & POP CHORSINGEN

In the organizer's words:

On the first Monday of the month, musician and music journalist Helmut Brasseinvites you to "Open Rock & Pop Choir Singing" at WERK°STADT. A handful of well-known rock and pop songs are rehearsed with the audience for the "final concert" at the end of the evening. It is neither a "pack karaoke" nor a highly complicated choir rehearsal, but "something in between".

No knowledge of sheet music is required, but the songs are usually arranged for several voices, which usually gives the participants completely new insights into the songs. The focus is on having fun singing together!

About the person:
Helmut Brasse, born in 1960, began to take an interest in the beat music of the time at the early age of 6. In his case, this was to shape his life. Via detours such as the record trade and business studies (final thesis on the "sound carrier industry"), his path led him to radio, where he still works as a freelance music author today. As part of this work, he met a number of artists and contemporary witnesses, including many from the heyday of pop music in the 1960s and 70s. Helmut Brasse has been committed to the independent music scene in NRW at WDR2 since 2009. He is one of the founders of the Witten cultural initiative "Maschinchen Buntes". Until the Corona crisis, he led the "Open Rock and Pop Choir Singing" and the "Beat Session".
