About the play

The new production of "Romeo and Juliet" at the bremer shakespeare company (2001 directed by Rainer Iwersen and 2013 directed by Nora Somaini) is by actor and director Michael Meyer. He tells the story of the first, great love that breaks out between the two young people of the feuding Capulet and Montague families in an environment of hatred and feuding in a fast-paced version: the rousing effect of the tragedy and the linguistic power of Shakespeare is enhanced by the driving beats of beatboxer Mando and the accentuating fight and dance choreography. An evening of theater that goes straight to the heart, especially for young audience members.
