In the organizer's words:
Ronja, the daughter of the robber captain Mattis, is born on a stormy night - at the very moment when lightning strikes the Mattis castle and splits it in two.
Years later, Ronja explores the mysterious Mattis Forest and meets Birk, the son of the hostile robber chief Borka. A special friendship grows between them.
But Mattis forbids Ronja to have any contact with Birk. In the end, they have to make a brave decision - they run away and live in Mattiswald from now on.
