The topic that RUE OBSCURE are addressing with their latest work THE CENTER deserves to be explored in greater depth. Under the title "What we hope for", a panel of experts will discuss developments and trends surrounding promises of salvation in spirituality and technology. The principle: art meets science. Dr. Uta Karstein, sociologist of religion at Leipzig University, and Prof. Dr. Johann S. Ach, Scientific Director of the Centre for Bioethics at the University of Münster, will examine questions of faith in the digital age from their respective specialist perspectives. Can spirituality and transhumanism serve as a substitute for religion - and what ethical challenges does this pose? Why do chimeras, hybrid beings and the non-binary simultaneously trigger rejection and fascination? And where is the boundary between humans and animals?
