Gender gaga is a right-wing fighting term and the title of a 2020 publication by Birgit Kelle that comes across as advice literature. The promotional text for the book states: "Rarely has an ideology that claims to improve the world had such a high entertainment factor. And that's why gender mainstreaming deserves to be seen for what it is: a great satirical show. Clear the stage!"

Die RuhrgebietsSpatzen take the advertising copywriters at their word and conquer the term in a glamorous entertainment revue: GenderGaGa. In doing so, they celebrate the subversive potential of the German-language pop song. After all, didn't Claire Waldoff already sing "Raus mit den Männern ausm Reichstag" in 1926, opening the door to the "Amazons"? From Waldoff to Giorgia Meloni, with Zarah Leander and Alice Weidel, via Marine Le Pen all the way back to Marlene Dietrich - the dazzling show hosts Pani Kostka and Mercedes Tuccini take their audience into a world between politics, propaganda and nightlife.
