Guest performance by Alexandra Bachzetsis
In her new solo performance Rush(es), the renowned Swiss choreographer and visual artist Alexandra Bachzetsis locates the self and explores autofiction, autoeroticism and autodocumentation. Conceived as an introspective journey, the performance questions taboos of behavior and explores the commodification of desire, which is both constructed and deconstructed by the dancing body. Rush(es) is characterized by rapid transformations that push the body to its limits and reflect pleasure, joy, loneliness and fear through the performer's intense physicality. In the process of physical metamorphosis, Bachzetsis controls her body so that it ceases to be a human being and transforms into something else - an animal, an object, a tool.
In this solo performance, you are invited to perceive, examine and experience these physical transformations as a reflection of the collective consciousness. Rush(es) aims to evoke intuitive, immediate responses to music, space, text and the actions of the body, bringing both the performer and you in the audience into a heightened state of awareness and transformation.
