Rymden Valleys & Mountains

Simple language: Rymden is a Swedish-Norwegian jazz band. They play modern jazz music with electronic sounds.

Wesseltoft, Öström and Berglund master their acoustic instruments to perfection - electronic effects are never an end in themselves for them. Rymden have filled rock clubs and classical concert halls, have lost themselves in mind-expanding improvisations and have mastered prog riffs. Mountains and valleys encourage the band to take prudent hikes, but this music is not firmly bound to the earth.

"Valleys & Mountains" is the Scandinavians' third work. It once again celebrates the trio's love for virtuoso music in the style of the seventies, for fusion jazz, prog rock and even classical music.
There are surprising time changes, abysmally thunderous bass lines and shimmering synthesizer pads. One thing is clearly recognizable: Rymden have never sounded so rested. This band has found itself over the course of hundreds of concerts and has long known exactly what it wants.

Following their collaboration with the Norwegian radio orchestra KORK, Rymden now present a feature guest for the first time: "The Hike" is enhanced by the inimitable bluesy sound of US guitarist John Scofield. "Sco" and Wesseltoft have been friends for decades and a collaboration has long been planned.
