Salia Sanou, À nos Combats

Dance meets boxing - two worlds that unite strength, discipline and expression. Choreographer Salia Sanou from Burkina Faso combines these two elements in "À Nos Combats" to create a poetic exploration of the body, power and community. Sanou is interested in the movement between attack and evasion, between reality and fiction. Inspired by worlds between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman in Kinshasa, he emphasizes the aesthetic and emotional richness of this sport, especially from a female perspective. Sensitivity, humor and energy permeate the choreography, in which bodies fight and dance at the same time. Together with around 60 amateurs, Sanou transforms the ring into a stage for visibility, equality and self-assertion.

In Dresden, "À nos Combats" is a cooperation project with various clubs and initiatives, opening up an encounter between the dance and sports scenes. The project is accompanied by a talk about the Sinto boxer Rukeli Trollmann, whose memorial has stood on the grounds of the Festspielhaus since 2012.
