SANAZ ZARESANI DUO

In the organizer's words:

Ham Sayeh

Persian-hopeful songs prepared in East Belgium - Persian singing meets western harmonies, joie de vivre meets philosophical, world music meets pop meets reggae.

What began as a musical contribution for a Ted Talk with three compositions quickly developed into a new band project for Sanaz Zeresani (vocals) and Boris Bansbach (guitar, vocals), "...because we just couldn't stop writing new songs."

When people put their heads together to exchange ideas, their shadows merge into one. There is a poetic expression for this in Persian: Ham Sayeh. Like-minded people standing so close together that they only cast a single shadow.

This spirit lives in the duo's songs and permeates their music like a pulsating lifeline. Persian singing meets western harmonies, joie de vivre meets philosophical, world music meets pop meets reggae and a music box that has long been buried in the sand - where the Göhl river in eastern Belgium makes its way to the blue waters of the Göy Göl in the mountains of Azerbaijan.

The duo project arose from a deep bond that manifested itself in creative energy.

Our songs not only connect different languages and musical styles, but above all people - at least we hope that we can infect the listeners with the joy we feel when writing and playing our music. It's always a special experience for us to see the sparkle in the audience's eyes at our concerts - especially when the audience sings along to the choruses in different languages.
