Actor Oliver Peuker from the Cosmos Factory theater production will be performing one of the most fascinating fairy tales ever for this year's "Beautiful Wild Christmas".

Unforgettable and still extremely popular is "The Snow Queen" by the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. The Snow Queen turns everything to ice. Even people's hearts. In Andersen's fairy tale, a child tries to confront the cold power of the queen with heartfelt love. A message that could not be more topical.

With imagination and suspense, Andersen tells the story of little Gerda, who embarks on an adventurous search for Kay, her best friend, who - robbed of his common sense and his own will by an evil devil's spell - is enraptured by the chilly Snow Queen and allows herself to be abducted by her into the icy expanses of Finnmark. On her long, perilous journey, Gerda encounters mysterious magical creatures, talking animals and plants, wild robbers - and an unexpectedly courageous second self within herself.

Hans Christian Andersen was born in Odense (Denmark) in 1805. He was the son of a poor shoemaker and was barely able to attend school until the Danish King Frederick VI, who had noticed his talent, allowed him to attend the Latin school in Slagelsen in 1822. He was also paid for his university studies until 1828. Andersen traveled through Germany, France and Italy, which inspired him to undertake lively impressionistic studies. Andersen's worldwide fame is based on the 168 fairy tales he wrote. And who doesn't know them: "The Emperor's New Clothes", "The Snow Queen" and "The Princess and the Pea". Andersen died in Copenhagen in 1875.

Oliver Peuker has been working as an actor, director and narrator for many years. In addition to appearances at theater festivals in Germany and abroad, he has appeared as an actor in film, television and theater productions. As a founding member of the Cosmos Factory, Oliver Peuker has been significantly involved in all of the theater's productions since 1999 as a director, producer and usually also as an actor. The Cosmos Factory became nationally known through the open-air productions for the theater summer at the Barkenhoff Worpswede - such as "Heinrich Eduardowitsch-Archaeology of a Dream" and "Paula & Frida. The production of Niedersachsenstein on the Weyerberg in Worpswede also caused quite a stir. Oliver Peuker has also been touring northern Germany for many years with his reading programs (including Edgar Allan Poe, Rainer Maria Rilke and Joachim Ringelnatz).
