Finally:
the catch-up concert with schubsen, our favorite Nurembergers!
Slow Club Freiburg presents:
schubsen + Dass Blanke Extrem
push
Nobody knows exactly where the madness begins.
Alone at home between four white wallpapers?
On the seventh floor of an office building?
Here and now as a couple at the kitchen table?
On the subway from A to what?
Or just up there between your ears?
What we see and what is really there is more than ever the question in this world between Instagram filters and fake news slingers.
Do I always have to be everything?
I don't have to be anything.
That's the answer from "s c h u b s e n" on their fourth release "Das Öffnen der Visiere" (Flight 13 Records, release date 17.05.24), which is a little more playful and smooth than its three predecessors without taking a sharp turn from the previous path. The eleven new songs can also be placed somewhere under the post-punk label, but this time the frame dangles more loosely from the wall.
And in the band's anniversary year, it's already been 10 years!
About the new album "Das Öffnen der Visiere" writes
Christian Ihle (Taz Pop Blog):
"Finely and to the point produced like no SCHUBSEN album before. So at last: Franconian Gang Of Four."
Sarah Lohr (Acne Kid Joe):
"An album full of future quotes. Right from the start, it's made clear what's happening here: "And again, madness captivates, on a small and large scale." 35 minutes of persistent speech, there's nothing to laugh about here.
But that's the reality.
And so are pushes. Great!"
Marten Ebsen (Turbostaat):
"Das Öffnen der Visiere is a very rousing record with brilliant guitars and a steadfast refusal to be part of today's service rock and the justified question "Do I always have to be everything?". No, you should only be pushing."
Nina Kummer (Blond)
"Delicate poetry, between indie pop and Schrammelpunk - I like it"

The Blank Extreme
A conglomerate of post-punk, indie rock and early Hamburg school. Like a racing bike race between crude slogans and abstract avant-garde.
Das Blanke Extrem has been around since 2018 and is currently based in Freiburg.
The group mixes influences from punk and the independent rock of an incipient Hamburg school.
The quartet is always in a balancing act between crude slogans and abstract avant-garde.
The debut LP by the four bicycle-loving friends, entitled "Alles in schönster Ordnung", was released in October 2019 via Flight 13 Records.
The second studio album entitled "Unheimlich nette Leute" followed in November 2021, also via the Freiburg label, and was recorded, like its predecessor, at Markus Heinzel's Liquid Studio, located in the most beautiful club in southern Germany, the Slow Club.
Since its foundation, Das Blanke Extrem has continuously developed its style and continues to set lyrical exclamation marks with a clear position and edge, with Dadaistically implied poetry.
In the meantime, a trace of dreamy post-punk can also be heard, with more and more wet sounds and increasingly rounded melodies.
Whether as support for Tocotronic or most recently Die Tränen:
Blanke Extrem play their way into the hearts and minds of all listeners* who get to experience this figurehead for young music from Freiburg live.
"Of course I'm going to keep the record and not pass it on to my fellow musicians, because I really like it. Frankly speaking, she put it on without great expectations and
and was pleasantly surprised. Great guitar and other sounds and good lyrics too! My compliments. While listening, I had a lot of associations, e.g. early Fehlfarben, but also some strange ones.
For example, the band 'Plagen', which I love dearly."
