Schulbigband

In the organizer's words:

This project is our pride and joy, even if we immediately pass the credit on to the wonderful teachers Dr. Peer Hübel, Peter Jacob and Stefan Kirsch. Where else can you find such a thing: a school big band, recruited from three schools in three cities and two federal states, which plays a headlining performance in front of a sold-out audience every year? We'll tell you: nowhere! Year after year, the big band directors have to replace up to 50 percent of the ensemble due to school departures. It seems like a modern-day Sisyphus myth. Again and again, the three teachers roll a stone carefully amalgamated from over forty pieces towards the summit, only to watch it roll back down into the valley each time and start everything all over again. But what was a punishment in ancient times is accompanied by lasting success here. Several members of the orchestra have since gone on to study music.
