In the tragicomedy based on Anton Chekhov, Erik Roßbander plays together with his son Ilya:
The old provincial actor Svetlovidov has fallen asleep drunk in the theater and now wanders across the empty stage at night. The only person with him is the young prompter Ivanych, who has no home and always spends the night at the theater. Svetlovidov sums up his life, thinks aloud about the great roles of world literature and lets the magic of the theater blossom as he plays various scenes.
