Florian Freistetter completed his doctorate at the Institute of Astronomy at the University of Vienna and then worked as an astronomer at the observatory of the University of Jena and the Astronomisches Rechen-Institut in Heidelberg. He writes and podcasts about science, writes books and is part of the science cabaret "Science Busters". His podcast "Sternengeschichten" is one of the most successful in the German-speaking world.

Martin Puntigam is an author for film, print, radio and television and a cabaret artist who has won no fewer than twelve awards. Founding member and, since then, skin-tight MC of the Science Busters feat. Purpur, university lecturer at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz since 2016. Initiator of the Heinz Oberhummer Award for Science Communication, which has been awarded annually since 2016.

The Science Busters have long been cult. Since their foundation in 2007, they have been serving up science for everyone, performing their science cabaret shows in theaters throughout the German-speaking world and appearing on television and radio. They have received the German Cabaret Award and the Salzburger Stier for their cabaret program. Their books "Gedankenlesen durch Schneckenstreicheln" and "Das Universum ist eine Scheißgegend" were named science books of the year.
