The dance and spoken theater piece questions the meaning of life.
Does the meaning of life have an inclusive, technological, human, robotic and natural dimension? Can we find it through speaking, singing and dancing, even when chaos reigns in and around us?
In this tragicomedy in which the world is at war, young people with and without disabilities, together with AI robots, search for a refuge to breathe in a robot factory. Outside, the bombs are falling - inside, everything seems to be different. Little by little, it becomes clear why they all come together there.
A play written, directed and choreographed by Grégory Darcy. The Esslingen dance company he founded is the first professional ensemble with dancers with and without disabilities in southern Germany. In 2019, it won the prestigious art prize "The Power of the Arts". She creates a place "where theater, dance and music ride the crest of an inclusive wave, where crash and hope are very close together". She already wowed audiences at Science & Theatre in 2023 with "Human Design". In "The Meaning of Life", she dances and performs with young people from the Rohräckerschule Esslingen to the music of Echo Jazz prizewinner Johanna Borchert.
