Sebastian Gahler Electric Stories

With "Electric Stories", Düsseldorf jazz pianist Sebastian Gahler presents an energetic, groove-based album that combines high-energy jazz with narrative depth.

Inspired by the electro, funk and fusion jazz of the 1960s and 70s - such as Herbie Hancock's Head Hunters - Gahler switches from the grand piano to a setup of vintage keyboards, synthesizers and organs. Together with a top-class ensemble and the New York star trombonist Andy Hunter, a warm, powerful band sound is created that combines retro aesthetics and contemporary energy.

The pieces, recorded live, tell musical stories between groove, reflection and electric tension. Electric Stories also marks the first physical release on Gahler's own label Jazz Kitchen Records.
