31st Rock & Blues Week

SECRET MISSION's conspiratorial meetings in their XXL rehearsal cellar do not remain secret for long. It's not so much the well-chilled drinks as the neatly preheated power amp tubes of the guitar amps that ensure this. The five seasoned musicians have a lot of fun playing the songs they've always wanted to play, even if not everyone immediately recognizes them. It starts with Atlantis, Ben Granfelt, Bad Company and Gallagher and ends with Wisbone Ash and ZZ Top.

Gunther Eisenblätter (b) and Stefan Niehm (d, voc) provide the basis, powerful, solid and to the point. Tjark Osterhorn (g,voc) and Martin Glück (g) share the guitar parts, with a bluesy edge, of course. When Bonnie Menzel (voc) then sings "Maybe Tomorrow", "Hard to Handle" or "Simple Man", with a good pinch of soul in her organ, it's clear: she's got what it takes. At the latest when her voice kicks in after delicate guitar arpeggios and you recognize Atlantis' "New York City", which never became a worldwide hit, you'd think there was a second Inga at the microphone.
