How nice is it to know that you can do everything yourself? Repairing broken things, living alone, working, making decisions. But when does the good feeling change despite all the autonomy? Because how nice it is to work, laugh and make things with others. In her performance, Evgenija Gerciu tests the advantages and limits of independence. Where do we stand alone and where do we find helping hands? Where is the group that educates the child - or at least helps with the move?

Between performative everyday processing and the independent aspects of making theater, themes such as neighborhood, individualism and the search for community are negotiated.

Evgenija Gerciu studies theater studies and Russian culture at the Ruhr University Bochum. In her work as a theater educator, she explores the potential of the interplay between individuality and community. Her focus is on directing, scenography and theater pedagogy. In her work, she humorously illustrates what she encounters in everyday life - feelings, social structures and reveries.

The production is part of west off 2025 - a series of selected young artists who show their productions at the Theater im Ballsaal, the Studiobühneköln (TanzFaktur) and the FFT in Düsseldorf.
