The gallery presents the artist Daniel Theiler with his exhibition
The title SHEESH, NO FLOWERS?! or シーッ、花がないの? is based on a moment of irritation: a situation in which the highest expectation meets a barely tangible void. In the midst of stagings of comfort, mobility and global availability, attention shifts to a detail and with it to the question of what is actually missing in these perfectly orchestrated environments.
This minimal shift forms the starting point of the exhibition. Daniel Theiler combines two central work complexes here: NON-STOP and the Theilies series. While NON-STOP examines the cultural, ecological and social dimensions of global mobility, the Theilies appear as idiosyncratic, hybrid forms between nature and design.
His cross-media practice combines installation, sculpture, painting and film to create spatial constellations in which perception, narrative and analysis overlap. This is characterized by a way of working that does not depict complex contexts but translates them into tangible situations.
With SHEESH, NO FLOWERS?! or シーッ、花がないの?a multi-layered setting emerges that oscillates between irritation and lightness. The exhibition does not create a closed picture, but rather an open experimental arrangement: an invitation to orient oneself in a present in which the boundaries between nature and culture, individual and collective as well as reality and staging are increasingly shifting.
