An unsuccessful robber and his brother try to track down their father, who has been living underground for years and has once again eluded the police. In a café, they meet two mysterious women who seem to know more than they want to admit.
An artfully and powerfully staged film that humorously confronts the fates of apparent outsiders with the absurdities of ordinary small-town life. Behind the virtuoso narrative style lies a romantic love story and the longing for happiness beyond social conventions.
