Camille Saint-Saëns: Carnival of the Animals
Fish bubble, chickens clamor, the swan is aware of its noble beauty. The elephant trots, donkeys gallop, the majestic march belongs to the lion. The "Carnival of the Animals" presents a loving and always characteristic walk through a colorful zoo full of highly musical creatures. Turtles dance a slow-motion can-can and even the extinct fossils offer up their bones for a virtuoso xylophone solo.
Juri Tetzlaff, known as a TV presenter on the children's channel Kika and familiar with classical music, plays the zoo keeper and draws the young zoo visitors' attention to everything that the composer Camille Saint-Saëns has hidden in his delightfully animalistic music.
Don't be afraid of big animals: At the cushion concert, the audience is allowed to get very close to the enclosures - so be sure to bring a cushion and an animal companion!
