SkateJam Workshops auf der Zollverein-Rollschuhbahn

The "SkateJam" originally comes from the USA and goes back to the influence of hip-hop, breakdance and freestyle skaters who tried their first tricks on rollers. Instead of just doing relaxed laps on roller skates and paying attention to the appropriate speed, JamSkating is all about a sense of rhythm, smooth movements and cool dance moves.

And that's exactly what you'll learn at the SkateJam workshops at Zollverein. The only requirement is that you can already move confidently on roller skates and are ready for new moves. But don't worry: advanced skaters will also get their money's worth at the SkateJam workshops. Do you have a disability and would like to take part in the workshop? By the way: The SkateJam roller disco starts almost immediately after the workshops, where you can put the new moves you've learned into practice straight away.

Which wheels are the right ones?

In contrast to the regular running times of the Zollverein roller skating rink and the roller disco, inline skates are not permitted at the SkateJam workshops. A limited number of rental roller skates are available, again with bright flashing wheels: but only while stocks last! This means that unfortunately we cannot guarantee that a pair of rental roller skates in the right size and/or with luminous wheels will be available at the desired time. We therefore recommend that you bring your own roller skates if possible.
