The legendary poetry slam in the heart of the Schanze.
Poetry slam is everywhere:

In small pubs, on big theater stages, at literary events and music festivals.

But at Slam the Pony, the slam is a little more real, a little more down-to-earth - this is where the Hamburg scene is at home.

Newcomers take their first steps on this stage, while professionals drop by with new texts.

This is Slam the Pony - the poetry slam at Haus 73.

At the poetry slam, participants compete against each other with texts they have written themselves. Whether funny or serious, rhymed or narrated, political or completely personal - everything is allowed at the slam.

Heart-wrenching thoughts meet trenchant wit, thought-provoking topics meet linguistic brilliance.

And in the end, the most competent jury of all - the audience - decides who will win the evening and ride home with the prestigious prize: the Golden Pony.
