After a wonderful start, our community film series enters its second round - with a queer love story that breaks with clichés and pushes boundaries:

During Pride month in London, a queer love story begins that gets under your skin: drag performer Layla performs at a dreary corporate Pride event - which has only made queer-friendliness its motto for marketing reasons. There, of all places, Layla meets Max: gay, white, a marketing expert - and fascinated. Although their lives could hardly be more different - Layla: non-binary, Palestinian roots, queer artist community. Max: conservative parents, yuppie friends, cis & privileged - a passionate love affair begins between them. But what happens when conformity becomes a burden? When love collides with power relations? And how much self is allowed to remain in love?

slow*screens is a new community film night at BLENDHAUS*. We show queer, BIPoC and FLINTA* films that often don't find a place in the mainstream - and create a cozy place for encounters, conversations and shared experiences.
