"I know we can't talk about this ... But don't you think this whole thing is more than just ironic? All this decay here: It's pathetic and at the same time - consistent ... I don't know what I've done to make this all fall back on me. But it probably doesn't need any guilt for this punishment." Karen actually just wanted to pay her father a visit, but his dementia and the constant rain force her to stay. The untenable situation brings the demons of the past to the surface and suddenly there is a dog and the pressing question of whether the slope will hold.
It is a world that seems to be literally dissolving before their very eyes: extreme weather events threaten places of retreat that they thought were safe, dwindling memories cause identity to crumble and at the same time reopen old wounds. The protagonist Karen is at a crossroads. But where does it come from and where will it lead her?
Director Luise Voigt was invited to the Theatertreffen 2025 with her production "Die Gewehre der Frau Carrar /Würgendes Blei" with texts by Björn SC Deigner.
