The cinema documentary by Jan Becker and Ralf Mendle accompanies Jacques Palminger (Studio Braun, Fraktus) and Carsten Meyer (aka Erobique) in their music theater project 'Songs for Joy'...

"We'll set your lyrics to music!" shouted the two Hamburg musicians Carsten Erobique Meyer and Jacques Palminger in the Veddel, a small working-class neighborhood in the middle of the industrial area of the port. And the lyrics came. So in the summer of 2024, during a two-week public session in the secularized Veddel Immanuel Church, an evening full of songs and hits was created and went from there with all those involved, with the whole mishmash, to the very big stage: that of the Deutsches Schauspielhaus, "a large theater at the main station", as the music teacher describes it to her children's choir, which is of course also there...The idea was first implemented in 2006 at Berlin's Gorki Theater, back then hits and long-running hits such as "Wann strahlst Du", "Finsterwalde" and "Kathrinund Lars" were created
