Songwriting Lab – Sounds of Bremen

This workshop is aimed exclusively at FLINTA* people.

Loud, quiet, wild, dreamy, mixed up or linear - what does Bremen sound like to you? Together we will explore the Bremen district and go in search of sound: We will record sounds, noises and voices that we encounter along the way and collect our very own soundtrack of Bremen. These sounds will later become the starting point for our joint songwriting session and your own pieces.

Afterwards, we will dive into the creative lab: We listen, improvise, experiment with the recordings and use them to develop initial song ideas and sketches. We will try out different songwriting methods, discover new ways of writing together and be inspired by the city and each other.

Whether loud or quiet, chaotic or clear - anything goes.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced musician, whether you sing, play or simply bring ideas - you are welcome. Feel free to bring your instrument and a desire to try out and improvise together.

You will record the sounds with the Koala app on a pad and use it to work on them in the session afterwards.

Our tip: First inspiration, then creativity: Get input in the Listening & Feedback session in the morning and get started in this workshop!

CLARKS PLANET is a musician, self-producing artist and interdisciplinary artist. CLARKS makes driving space pop with cosmic-punky electric guitars, orchestral soundscapes and an expressive voice. As an expert in signature sounds, CLARKS accompanies you in discovering individual soundscapes, developing the courage to take unfamiliar paths and standing by your own.

JESSOVSKI is a musician, teacher and mentor in songwriting. She works as a singing teacher and band coach and gives workshops for songwriting and text work. Musically, she combines electro-pop, humor, feminism and danceable beats - celebrating the shimmering facets of her emotional world and the absurdities of everyday life. As an expert in creative writing and musical expression, JESSOVSKI will guide you in developing your own lyrics and melodies, overcoming creative blocks and finding access to your artistic voice.
