Singer Sonja Priehn and pianist Holger Engel share a great love of jazz. Jazz is also the common thread in their program "Jazzline", in which they occasionally cross the fine line to pop, blues or soul. In addition to popular jazz classics, Holger Engel's own refreshing compositions also find their place. And jazz doesn't always have to be clothed in English words, occasionally a German text from Sonja's pen appears.

The duo performs old and new jazz songs in their own way, creating musical highlights, sometimes in duets. Holger Engel creates extraordinary soundscapes when he accompanies Sonja on the Seaboard for selected pieces and creates a fascinating atmosphere. The audience can look forward to musical highlights full of emotion and virtuosity!

Sonja Priehn, born in Pforzheim in 1977, discovered her musical passion at a young age, inspired by her grandfather, a passionate pianist. She began her classical vocal training at the age of 13 and won several first prizes at "Jugend musiziert". At the age of 20, she expanded her repertoire and performed enthusiastically on various stages - from pop and rock to blues and jazz. Today she performs in small duo formations as well as with party or big bands. Particularly noteworthy is her collaboration with the Lumberjack Big Band, where she can be seen alongside stars such as Max Mutzke and Tom Gaebel. She has also made several guest appearances on SWR television.
Sonja is in demand internationally, performing at festivals such as the Ascona Jazz Festival and the Turin Jazz Festival. In addition to her performances, she writes her own songs and poems, which underline her artistic versatility.

Holger Engel, also born in Pforzheim in 1966, was taught a strong affinity for music at an early age in his musical family home, especially on the piano. Stylistic diversity emerged in his early classical piano lessons, where he soaked up excursions into boogie-woogie, blues and jazz like pink marshmallows. His studies at the Mannheim University of Music in jazz and popular music plus arranging and composing gave him a further boost to become a professional who is regarded as a reliable navigator for all occasions in many line-ups and bands. Appearances on ARD, ZDF, SWR etc. with icons such as Peter Kraus and Schilling, world stars such as Julio Iglesias and Marla Glen, piano double for Tobias Moretti in feature films are milestones between tours with Robbie Williams or Janis Joplin tribute shows and numerous theater productions at renowned theaters throughout Germany.
The production of music for films and computer games, merging electronic and traditional soundscapes, is playing an increasingly important role in Holger's creative work, both in his own studio and live.
