At the age of eight, Sophie makes plans for the future in her childhood bedroom with her friend Daniel: no children by all means, but at least five dogs!

And eighty years later, back in that room, Sophie dreams of her mother, her father and her son. And of Daniel, who sits with her and holds her hand.

In between lies a whole life - and a family history. The picture arc, which shows a life in twelve stations in this room, sometimes seems banal, sometimes funny and sometimes painful. Again and again, it tells of the love between people, which is sometimes not enough and then again so strong that it can uplift a life.

"Sophie" is an extraordinary play because it shows a very ordinary life.
