Sorex - in German: Waldspitzmaus - is set in the German-Czech border region. A couple of foreign guest workers work and live under precarious conditions in a xenophobic environment. At the same time, the film tells the story of the marriage of a Czech couple who work in the workers' accommodation. They also live precariously, their married life is broken. The dull hatred against the foreign workers is the undertone of their everyday life. In parallel scenes, shrews desperately try to keep themselves alive. They have to find food many times their own body weight every day in order to survive. A metaphor for the daily struggle of workers. When Frema, the worker, is hospitalized after a serious accident, her husband throws himself into the city's nightlife, which is characterized by red light and drugs. The Czech woman, Hema, also goes out after leaving her husband. The play reaches its ecstatic climax and the two meet. With fatal consequences.
